Chrome has problems |
|
Author: Mark Strickland At an IT tech's suggestion, I downloaded Chrome onto my system to give it a try.
Chrome managed to pull most of my links and established tabs from FireFox. However, it took two or three attempts of canceling out of the program and restarting it to get it to open any of them up. I found that no matter what I did, it couldn't search for a website, and the automated search features failed all the way around. I tried opening up Google (my current homepage), and Chrome kept telling me that the site did not exist or was unavailable. I finally had to manually type the address in from memory, but Chrome crashed every time I tried to perform a search. To my dismay, the system is so sparse as to not even possess a 'back' button.
Things I absolutely hate most about the program:
1) I don't want the system keeping track of which sites I visit most often.
2) Attempting to remove the program from my system found me being directed to Chrome's website.
3) It's blatantly obvious that Google is using the platform as yet another means of gathering information on its users.
All said, this is NOT a browser I either recommend nor one that I would reload on my computer.
